The candidate chooses the Universities he/she wants in Europe and USA in order to become accepted for undergraduate studies or postgraduate studies (in case he/she already possess a University BA Degree). This is the way Universities abroad accept and choose applicant and not some kind of exams.
Art.edu workshop helps students to learn how to create works of art (drawings, paintings, collage, video, clay, photograph, photoshop, prints etc) and/or architecture design (design, sketch, graphic design etc), depending on the direction the student wants: Fine Arts or Architecture or Design or Art Therapy. Moreover, we include in the folder works-projects that result through research (texts, information, photographs, notes) related to subjects that interest the applicant and express his/her personality and views.

Some private Highschools offer IB programs, International Baccalaureate, which means Portfolio preparation. So, IB is a way to make a portfolio, not the only one.
Right now we explain in details how a portfolio can be created, either the candidate participates in an IB program at his/her private Highschool, or is a student of a private Highschool without IB or is a student of a public Highschool or has already graduated from Highschool.

Why do I need a portfolio?
Portfolio is a real means of promotion, that, apart of the pieces of work included, highlights the hole vision and approach of the creator, expressing his/her personality. During the choice procedure of the candidates, creativity, methods of presentation, critical mind and art vision are virtues that matter. A portfolio must include all these that express the world vision of the candidate.

How can I succeed?
Devotion, concentration and strong will are surely needed! Programming, consistency, persistence and effort lead the candidates to the best Universities of their choice. 3-9 hours per week at the workshop can give the best results.
Every university has its own programs and demands. Focusing on the real subject of interest is important for the applicant, in order to make a portfolio that responds to the special character of the specific program. Art.edu helps the students in making the right choices.

When should I start?
The sooner the better! The procedure of shaping a personal critical vision of the world to the practical art processing of a main idea, can be really demanding. Progress will come us a result after a period of work, so the candidates must start making their portfolio at least one year before the submission of the application. Submission period depends on the university and is around half way of the last year of Greek Highschool. That means, someone should start at least one year and a half before graduating Highschool. Art.edu suggests a two years period of preparation, considering that at the end we will have to choose the best pieces of work out of the total amount of works, in order to make a strong proposal, not a compromised one.

rt.edu workshop’s open approach helped me discover many things, like techniques or philosophical options, in a natural way. Theory and practice were combined under the guidance of the teachers, finally leading to a holistic and critical view of Art. Coexistence of different levels of work was very creative and, generally, the feeling and the high teaching level offered me a smooth transition to my postgraduate Fine Arts studies. Eirini Roumbi University of Hertfordshire MA Fine Arts course I discovered the workshop years ago by chance, I hadn’t any previous artistic and portfolio experience, and my teacher helped me through the experience of achieving a portfolio in English in no time. She gave me the chance to try all kinds of methods, charcoal, photography, clay, painting… and so on. She trusted me and enabled me to discover and explore many artistic means freely. It has been my best art learning experience, because of her balance between explaining how to use everything by giving me interest in discovering art with meaning and letting me reinterpret it with my own personality. Of course, her supporting character helped me to go through it, and apart from feeling now confident with trying any type of art, I consider her as my friend. After studying one year in Kent University, I am now studying Architecture at the faculty of La Cambre-Horta in Brussels. I’m an art.edu student since I was 9 years old, that means, for seven years now. Art. edu is a place that introduces me to the world of Art and its several options and broadens my horizons continually. Teaching is personal and the environment is warm and full of stimuli. Because of my experience here, I decided to study Architecture. I’m already getting prepared for the National Exams exercising on Freehand Drawing and Architecture Drawing and, at the same time, I’m making my Portfolio, aiming to the Architecture Universities of England, Paris and Holland, so, in two years, I can have more possibilities of acceptance and choice. Lydia Zervi, student, 16 years old. My experience with art.edu workshop has been nothing than delightful. Coming here is by far my favorite hours of the week. This place has not only helped me grow my artistic skills, but also me as an individual. Vasilis Labriniadis Making his Fine Arts Portfolio Aiming at New York Art Universities Christos Papapanagiotou, after attending Drawing and Painting classes in art.edu for two years, managed to prepare himself for the exams of the Fine Arts Schools of Greece and, at the same time, to make his Portfolio for art studies abroad. His Portfolio was accepted at the University of Dundee, Fine Arts, England. After a few months, he gave his Greece exams and became accepted at the three (out of four) Fine Arts Universities: Thessaloniki, Florina and Ioannina. Finally, he chose the Fine Art School of Thessaloniki, Greece. Christos Papapanagiotou Thessaloniki School of Fine Arts I studied in art.edu workshop for three years. My goal was Architecture studies abroad and for this reason I attended the International Baccalaureate program of my Highschool, at the same time with attending art.edu classes. In art.edu, at the beginning, I attended courses on Drawing and Painting, focusing on techniques and media. Later, I began Architecture Design and, after that, with the help of my art.edu teachers I began working on Conceptual projects. I became accepted at the Oxford Brooks University in England and I thank my art.edu teachers from the bottom of my heart for their guidance and encouragement.
